Are you a child of light or of darkness? This will determine if you can operate in real spiritual
authority over evil forces in the Name of Jesus. The life of Christ flows through every born-again
believer the same as it did through the Apostle Paul.
When you become a believer, it remains to be seen if you will make Jesus truly the Lord of your
life. Will you trust Him to rule over you? To then become a convert, you must undergo some
degree of transformation resulting from your genuine repentance and God’s absolute
forgiveness. This changes you. And, you want to talk about it!
The result is true discipleship. You are now a witness by your words and actions, willing to take
whatever losses to represent Christ Jesus in your generation. That is why the demonic forces
recognized the Apostle Paul along with Jesus in the Acts 19 passage. He was a true disciple,
walking in obedience and power, and they knew it. In this same way, they will know your name
because you are plundering hell and populating Heaven.
Not everyone who calls Him “Lord” will become a true disciple, as He warned in Matthew
chapter 7. Even though Judas participated in the supernatural ministry Jesus gave the disciples,
he was known to the spirit world to be false, and so fell into betrayal. We must all heed the
warning given by the Lord in Matthew 7:21: Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall
enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. (NKJV)
REFLECT
1) Where do you see yourself in this progression from believer to disciple?
2) What can you do to cooperate with the transforming process?
3) Can you be a disciple without being an active witness?
PRAYER PROMPTS
1) Pray for discernment to see the hindrances that are keeping you from moving
through this transformation process.
2) Ask the Lord to reveal any area in which you do not trust Him but rely on your
own strength.
3) Seek the Holy Spirit for empowering and anointing to witness to the Lord’s
sufficiency in your life.
